Talking with my 8 yr old JW daughter
by megsmomma ini am so glad to have these boards so i can keep up with what they are teaching her.
(she lives in ohio with her dad and step-mom....and is surrounded by dubs) i asked her if she had started the new tract campaign yet.
she said .."no, not yet, but people aren't going to like it!

Besides all the other good advice I would just add to make sure she always know that you love and accept her rather she is a JW or not. No matter what course she takes that you will be there for her.
I think as she gets older and may decide during those teenage years to asert her individuality and choose her own road she will know she has an allie in you. That will give her strength to go against the JW norm if she so decides to.
This is awesome advise, and one I use with my son. Jgnat is right on as well...just keep her informed and loved.

So cute
My daughter just adopted an 8 week old kitten who had litter box trouble as well. I asked a good friend of mine who LOVES cats how to remedy this, she suggested "showing" the cat how to scratch in the box, and take them to it as soon as they've eaten. We have 2 older cats that could very well have helped train the new one, but I went & bought a little box he could get into, locked him in the bathroom overnite with it & by the next day he had it down.
Good Luck!

my sons wonderfull heart
by ajsmama inso last night i was crying in my room so bad that my 5 year old heard me, even though i was trying to be quiet.
he then started looking around the house for something shaped like a heart.
he found a little heart shaped pendant and started rubbing it on his chest, then he started rubbing it on mine.

Aren't 5 year olds great?? Your son does have a wonderful heart and they will both be there to help you along this new path you're on. Keep your chin up!

You survived...yay
I gave up on my daughter & had her take a driving class. She doesn't take criticism from me too well and I got WAY too frustrated with her to be any benefit. That and she scares the hell out of me.
Good luck! They do grow up too fast!

How do you handle extremely rude people in public?
by Virgochik ini'm so upset by two vicious women who came to my work today.
i was helping a man in my line and they tried to cut in front.
i politely explained that as soon as i finished with my customer, i would help them.

I don't think you were wrong in any way. Sure you gave them information they didn't need or deserve to know, but they were incredibly rude to feel that they were more important than even the customer you were helping first. THEY are the ones with the problem, not you.
It's hard to deal with people like that, you did better than I would have, which is probably why I don't work directly with the public
All you can do is smile and nod your head. If they go to your boss, so be it, they'll probably be just as rude to him/her as they were to you. While the "customer is always right", that doesn't mean they should bully their way into being helped. Miserable bitter people do try to make everyone around them the same way.
Sorry you had to deal with that Virgochik, I hope you feel better!

by RichieRich inover the past couple of weeks, i've learned a lot about myself and those around me.
life might suck, but life moves on.. mom's grip is weakening, prob.
because she's getting tired, or because she's beginning to realize how things are.. not everything i have done is admirable, but its done.

Ok I lied....2 questions
When they do this "circuit assembly" do ALL the KH's (in the same city) do it on the same date?? I can't get ahold of my "in" to ask them this question...it's just odd to me he wants to switch weekends and he specifically said "it's not mother's day" which is the weekend of the 13/14 and the circuit assembly listed on the above myspace. All I want to do is make sure he's not wanting to switch to take my kid to it.
I'm so confused!
Thanks!
